The Pillow 3: Books & Coffee

She was waiting at the old coffee place they frequented. He was still on the train thinking his thoughts. He did not want to see her but she had found a way to draw him out. His mind was processing a million thoughts. His face had the look of fear and apprehension. It was not where he wanted to be.

It had been a long while since the pillow adventure. His life seemed to have “normalized” though she would fill his thoughts every single day the last 4-months. He was getting accustomed to the solitude the tower had given him. “Coffee solitaire” didn't seem to taste half as bad and he could sleep relatively like a log when slumber came to visit or when he was simply too drunk to stay awake.

Roughly a hundred twenty days since he last gazed into her eyes he found himself staring at a familiar sight. It felt strange to be with her and yet he knew much has changed. Nothing will ever be as it was.

But deep in his soul, he knows he is inextricably bound to her. She would always manage to hold his stare. There is something behind those eyes.”, he thought. Much as he wanted to get away, to forget and to be in peace, she will always haunt him.

He will always love her!
