Opposites (10.6.20)

That, "Opposites attract," is but a fallacy. Only like minds and kindred souls will find and keep each other in this universe, as two satellites on a similar course are likely to collide.

I sing to you an ode, Serendipity as I sung to you on that sandbar in Mactan, as we lay there on that nameless trench in Tarlac, as I walked with a red wine-stained shirt along Mabini, as I saw you coming down the path with my jacket somewhere in the jungles of Compostela Valley.

I knew, while you marvelled at my animal-taming skills that finding you was a long and arduous, climbing the mountain ranges of Empathy and Indifference but losing you was as easy a teardrop falling in a pond.

We are very much the same soul born from different eons. Time will always be the distance between us. Thus, we are bound only by memory and no trace of my existence will mar your near perfect life.

I love you and have loved you since the opening chords were played. I remained in love with long after the music faded. I love you still—and more, in the deafening cacophony of thoughts in my head!

There is no need for you to come back. You never left but you were never here.
